  • Selectable Prestiges
  • Kit Prestiging
  • Challenge Milestones
  • Revamped Prestige Icons

All the details are below!

Mini SkyWars
MiniSkyWars.jpg

So yes, we lied. Ranked SkyWars is coming back!...sort of. Now named Mini SkyWars, it's the same mode without any of the Divisions or cosmetic rewards. That means it's fast to queue with only 4 players lobbies, has a smaller map compared to regular SkyWars, and is overall a pretty fun time!

All of the original Ranked SkyWars Kits are back (untouched!), along with old maps and new ones. There are some additional changes that were made to "modernize" the mode, but we tried to keep it as true to the original where possible:
  • Removed all perks
    • Juggernaut is now a Global Perk
    • Kit-specific perks are now apart of their Kits by default (no purchase necessary!)
  • Removed hunger
  • Ender Pearls no longer damage you
  • Ores now instantly smelt when mining them
  • Doubled the blocks found in starter island chests
  • Removed the Default Kit, making Champion the new Kit that's selected by default
Kills in Mini SkyWars award 4 XP, Assists 2 XP, and Wins are now 10 XP!

Prestige Schemes
firework.png

Being able to use an old prestige you've earned is one of the most frequent SkyWars suggestions we receive, and it's finally here! You can select any prestige you've ever unlocked by equipping its "Prestige Scheme" in the cosmetics menu!

New Prestiges

settings.png
We've also added new prestiges up to SkyWars Level 500. At levels 300, 400, and 500 we have also added toggles for bolding your prestige level, underlining your entire prestige, and striking through the brackets, respectively. You can find these toggles in the new settings menu (accessed through /settings).

Kit Prestiging
prestige_vii.png

Any SkyWars XP you earn with a Kit now contributes towards its Prestige. There are 7 Kit Prestige tiers, with each tier rewarding a new colored movement trail while playing that Kit, among other rewards. Note that Kit Prestiges are split by mode--meaning that (for example) the Armorer Kit has 3 separate prestiges: one for Normal, one for Insane, and one for Mega. All of the Mini SkyWars Kits also have Kit Prestiges!

Here are the tiers and their rewards:
  • Tier I (1,000 XP): +50,000 Coins & White Movement Trail
  • Tier II (2,500 XP): +100,000 Coins & Green Movement Trail
  • Tier III (5,000 XP): +250,000 Coins & Blue Movement Trail
  • Tier IV (10,000 XP): +1 Opal & Dark Purple Movement Trail
  • Tier V (25,000 XP): +1 Opal & Gold Movement Trail
  • Tier VI (50,000 XP): +1 Opal & Light Purple Movement Trail
  • Tier VII (75,000 XP): +1 Opal, Rainbow Movement Trail, New Prestige Scheme!

Progress towards this system is retroactive, meaning that wins and kills you've earned with each Kit in the past will progress towards its prestige. If you've not gotten your XP yet upon logging in, don't fret! We'll be sending out the XP a couple of hours after the update initially drops.

Prestige Icon Revamp
sigma.png

Challenge Milestones
challenge_milestones.png

We previously promised that Ranked SkyWars cosmetics would be returning in one way or another, and challenge milestones are how that's happening! In order to progress, you need to complete every challenge a minimum number of times.

There are 14 milestones, and each rewards one of the original Ranked SkyWars cosmetics. The cosmetics from higher divisions are at the later milestones, with the last reward being earned after you complete every SkyWars challenge 50 times! The milestone menu can be accessed in the pre-game lobby or in the queueing NPCs in the SkyWars lobby.

Mode Playlist Changes

Mega SkyWars Doubles

We have swapped Mega SkyWars out for Mega SkyWars Doubles. Rather than only queueing on the weekends, we are keeping the mode open throughout the entire week.

Insane SkyWars Doubles

Insane Doubles has consistently been our core mode with the slowest queues. Since Mega Doubles is close to what Insane Doubles provides, we have decided to stick with just having Mega Doubles in an effort to improve queue times.

Other Changes

Insane SkyWars Perk Changes

We have removed the Perk Slots system from Insane SkyWars. Now, all perks you have purchased for Insane SkyWars will be enabled simultaneously. Our hope is that this will help keep Insane as a more distinct mode from Normal, without alienating newer players. If there are some perks you don't want enabled you can easily disable them within this menu as well.

Progression Changes

  • Halved the amount of SkyWars XP needed for each level
  • Prestiges are now earned every 10 levels instead of 5
  • Kills now give 2 SkyWars XP instead of 1
  • Assists now give 1 SkyWars XP
  • Revamped the levelling menu so that you can see all levels and rewards
  • Content Requirement Changes
    • Angel's Descent now unlocks at SkyWars Level 15
    • Angel's Brewery now unlocks at SkyWars Level 25

Fallen Forge

forge_an_opal.png

We've added a brand new area over to the right side of the lobby, the Fallen Forge! We wanted to make earning Opals more exciting, so now you get to see them forged with a cool animation! In the related menu you can also view how many Souls you need until your next Opal, along with other information on what Opals can be spent on.

Kit Menu Changes

Shop Menu Changes
The Kits & Perks menu in the Shop has been revamped, both to make space for Mini SkyWars but also to clean it up a little. It's worth noting that Mythical Kits have been moved into the Kit menus for Normal and Insane respectively (purchasing them for one mode still unlocks it in the other).

Sorting Button & Favoriting
We have added sorting to the Kit Selection menu. There are sorts for A-Z, Z-A, highest rarity first, lowest rarity first, and a toggle for owned Kits first. You are also now able to "favorite" a Kit by toggling it as such in a Kit's breakdown menu. Your favorited Kits will always show up first in the Kit Selection menu regardless of the sort.

Lobby Kit Selection Changes
You are now able to select a Kit from the lobby by left-clicking it in the Kit Selection menu if you have it unlocked. Right-clicking will now bring you to the Kit Breakdown menu instead, where you can access your stats, kit prestige, the kit's layout editor, and the favorite toggle.

Pre Game Kit Selection Changes
The Kit Selection menu in the pre-game also gets the new sorting button, and now has support for multiple pages of Kits so the menu feels less cluttered. Also, you can now view your selected Perks and equip new ones if you wish from this menu.

Perk Menu Changes

Perk Shop Change
Previously the Perk Shop and perk selection were two entirely separate menus, which made it quite awkward to see all the perks at once if you didn't have some unlocked. We have merged these menus into one, making it exactly like most other shops on the network (like for cosmetics).

Revamped Descriptions
savior.png
We have revamped the descriptions of everything in the Perk Menu. Some perks weren't entirely clear (or were flat out wrong) in how they functioned. Most (if not all) of these issues have been addressed with the updated descriptions. They also look a lot nicer to boot!

Soul Well Changes

Soul Changes
The cap on Souls has been removed and Souls from your Soul Well and your next Opal have been merged into one number. Note that if you somehow had more than 250 Souls in your Soul Well, we carried over at most 3,000 of them to this new system.

Rolling Improvements
Closing the Soul Well menu while it's still rolling for your rewards will now give you your rewards early. We have also un-bolded the reward chat messages so that they are a little less obnoxious to read.

Upgrade Changes
Harvesting Season used to upgrade the maximum number of Souls you could keep in your Soul Well. Since we have removed this cap, this upgrade has been revamped to give a % chance to earn x2 Souls on a kill or win, up to 10%. Besides that, we have also updated the descriptions for both upgrades for better consistency, and the menu no longer closes when you purchase an upgrade.

Soul Well Wheels Changes
The "Soul Well Settings" menu never housed anything other than just changing the # of Wheels that you would spin. Rather than having a whole new menu, you can now simply just left or right-click the button to change the # of Wheels you would like to spin at once.

Removal of Soul Harvesters
In order to keep Souls and Opals more distinct from Coins, the Soul Harvesters menu has been removed. To compensate for this change, we have made the Soul Well significantly cheaper to roll, now only costing 2 Souls per Wheel (maximum of 10 Souls to roll 5 Wheels).

Angel of Death & Head Collection
We've restructured a lot of our menus with this update to condense things and put them in places that make more sense. One of those changes is moving the Angel of Death and Head Collection into the Soul Well menu along with the other upgrades.

Angel's Brewery Changes

Balancing
  • Ender Elixir: 20% → 15% chance to earn an Ender Pearl on void kill
  • Level UP Energy: 30% → 50% chance to earn x2 Souls on wins
Stacking Changes
Gilded Tonic, Ender Elixir, Builder's Blend, and Robinhood's Concoction now all directly stack with perks rather than being a separate chance. This does not mean they will not work on their own, simply that it will directly buff a perk rather than acting entirely separate from perks. This was done to increase consistency and intuitiveness.

Revamped Descriptions
gilded_tonic.png
The item descriptions for all of the Potions have been completely reworked so that they are easier to read and understand. Similar to many other changes in this update, our goal is to improve the accessibility of this feature.

Quest Overhaul

We have revamped all of the SkyWars quests in order to make them more rewarding and easier to understand.
SkyWars Solo Wins (0/1)
+15 SkyWars XP
+1,500 Coins
+500 Tokens

SkyWars Doubles Wins (0/1)
+15 SkyWars XP
+1,500 Coins
+500 Tokens

Mini SkyWars Wins (0/1)
+15 SkyWars XP
+1,500 Coins
+500 Tokens

Mega SkyWars Kills (0/5)
+15 SkyWars XP
+1,500 Coins
+500 Tokens

Lucky Block SkyWars Wins (0/1)
+15 SkyWars XP
+1,500 Coins
+500 Tokens
SkyWars Wins (0/15)
+250 SkyWars XP
+25,000 Coins
+7,500 Tokens

SkyWars Kills (0/150)
+250 SkyWars XP
+25,000 Coins
+7,500 Tokens
+200 Souls
Earn Opals (0/1)
+1 Opal

Note: In effect, this means the first Opal you earn each month gets doubled.

Head Changes

Removal as a Currency
In an effort to simplify the number of currencies we have in the game, we are removing any functional use for Heads outside of the XP that they give. Every Mythical Kit will now cost 1 Opal, and their price will no longer increase on subsequent purchases. The different Potions in the Angel's Brewery now have a SkyWars Level requirement instead of a minimum Heads requirement.

New Flavors
We have added 3 new flavors with this update: Ethereal (20 XP), Indescribable (25 XP), and Special (25 XP). The Ethereal and Indescribable flavors can be found by killing players with at least 50,000 and 100,000 kills in Corrupted games respectively. The Special flavor can be found by killing any player with [YOUTUBE] Rank.

Changes to Existing Flavors
The Sweet flavor (earned by killing any Staff member) has been buffed to give 25 XP rather than just 8 XP. We have also changed a few of the colors around for each of the flavors so that everything makes a little more sense.

Menu Changes
head_info.png
We have updated the Head Statistics button in the Head Collection menu and added a new Head Info button which better describes how the whole system works. Our hope is that this will help newer players understand everything better.

Change to Nicknamed Player Heads
If you kill a nicknamed player in a Corrupted game, the head that drops will have their nickname until they change it, at which point the head will show who the actual player was.

Soul Well
As mentioned earlier in the post, your Head Collection can now be found in the Soul Well along with the Angel of Death upgrade.

Wall of Death Changes

We've entirely re-implemented the Wall of Death from the ground up as there were many issues with its previous functionality. It should now work properly across all modes, and the particles should be visible again.

QoL Changes
  • Removed hunger from all modes
    • To coincide with this change, we have removed the Nourishment perk as it would no longer be useful
  • Added a warning when you have empty Perk Slots in Normal and Mega SkyWars
    • This message can be toggled off in the new settings menu

    • This is to make it obtainable again
  • The "Scientist" Challenge Achievement now only mentions Lucky Block SkyWars to reduce confusion
  • The Ultimate Warrior Challenge in Insane Mode now gives you an Iron Sword instead of a Stone Sword
  • Removed the Revenge perk
  • You can no longer enable SkyWars Challenges while in a Party

Most of the kits are not the original ones. Champion used to give sharp 2 diamond sword, now gives no sharp. Magician used to give more potions. Scout used to give 3 potions not 1. pretty much every kit is not the original. The OG ranked skywars kits were perfect, I don't know why they were changed.

Also, it would be nice to see ranked skywars kit progress for kit prestiges transfer over to mini skywars

I one hundred percent agree

They were the original level 1 versions of the kits. We've now changed it so that they're the max level versions (which I think everyone was more familiar with).

Remove the challenge requirements for the "cosmetics", sooner then later you are going to be dealing with people boosting for it.
This is becoming a huge problem @MotorGorilla... you have people begging for wins and some just completely boosting with alts/friends. You guys should have never done these challenge to reward concepts--this has become a disaster. It's not too late to change it. You can keep everything else to the update but take this part away.

Adding another method to obtaining ranked rewards I think is a good decision considering people were buying and trading accounts to get these cosmetics before, but I have to agree that this might not have been the best way to implement this. I have played so many games where there's 1/4 of the lobby sitting on their islands with all challenges on begging for wins, and jumping off (so no kill credit) when I say no.

You can find these toggles in the new settings menu (accessed through /settings).

Any SkyWars XP you earn with a Kit now contributes towards its Prestige. We've revamped the entirety of the old Prestige Icon system to bring it more in line with the Emblem system we have been slowly introducing across the network. Our goal is to make players care more about their Prestige Icons by making them more meaningful and difficult to obtain.

Challenge Milestones

The item descriptions for all of the Potions have been completely reworked so that they are easier to read and understand. Similar to many other changes in this update, our goal is to improve the accessibility of this feature.

Quest Overhaul

We have revamped all of the SkyWars quests in order to make them more rewarding and easier to understand.
