dear administrators what are you doing?

This post was initialy going to be a post about ferocity and how it has become a useless stat and a few ways to make it better. But I scrapped than in favor of this post.

List of previous updates:
2025 march: Backwaters Bayou
2025 Feb: Year of the seal & Year 400 event
2025 Jan: Rng meter update.
2024 Dec: Rift and crimson isles QOL
2024 Nov: pest hunters
2024 Oct: Museum overhall
2024 Sep: modern mining
2024 Aug: Artist abode
2024 Jul: better mayors
2024 May: ****
2024 April: Huge **** and glacite tunnels

In the past year we have gotten 3 updates with new content glacite tunnels, mountain top and backwaters bayou. all 3 are each small updates with one being a part 2 and the other 2 completed in a few hours. The last BIG content update was the crimson isles and you could say also the rift which were both released long ago.
In almost each of these updates there has been a mention of foraging and how it is coming apparently and that it's being worked on or what ever and every time it's just everything but foraging.

We are now past 3 years from when the crimson Isles dropped in March 2022 and all we have gotten are small updates that are just a few hours long, updates that just work on previous content or a whole lot of QOL updates.

not to mention that the foraging update was first mentioned in 2021 which is 4 years ago now. How many times was this update scrapped and re done????
please don't even mention updates like year of the seal which was actual ****ass filler update with ZERO content. You couldn't even add the blood god shrine back in year of the pig which on its own would make this update worth something. The is nothing left here and it is very obvious why the top content creators like refraction and palika just can't be bothered with this game any more. Truly a shame that the game got so barren that they left. And you can't even blame them.

Now for a few other issues.

alpha net:
last alpha of back water bayou was so short that there was hardly any time for admins to realise that the community pointed out a whole lotta stuff needed to be changed.
This is very unlike the crimson Isles alpha which was amazing due to flare (heatran) genuinely reading and responding to a lot of suggestions and taking action rather than ignoring feedback. Unfortunately for backwater bayou this was not done. Instead of putting the dam thing on alpha after the project was done you should have put it up when city project started or was at 50%.
Not only would this give you more time to respond to feedback but also generated update hype thus incentivising people to contribute to city project.
Please return to doing alphas the way flare conducted the crimson Isles qol alpha.

server performance
servers have been terrible for so long in places like crimson isles, dungeons and kuudra. I remember back when kuudra t5 dropped you could use 500 ferocity on kuudra and server would be 100% fine and hardly lag but now even 100 fero just sends the server to the ER, this is one of the main reasons I have not played kuudra in almost a year now.
The same is applied to m7 where I just go and play a few runs during 3 perk paul which is a nightmare due to the lag.
I've also been trying to get the last 3 diamond trophy fish which is when I've really started to notice the crimson Isles lag.

communication:
This is a point which alot of people point out and that being the lack of communication regarding updates or what is being worked on. We haven't gotten a a thread dedicated the what is happening since July 2024 and a more general on on new years which just leaves people waiting on blank. Atleast if you put out post stating what is being Worked on in slightly more detail with out leaking too much people would be willing to wait this long but the lack of communication has made this terrible. Even with the upcoming slayer update, is there any information on this? Is it even a thing? You could just talk about what your doing rather than staying quite.

Anyways I'm done here now I might stop playing soon if slayer update is not dropped in this April drop or maybe in March and probably won't return even if forgaing get released cuz at that point I'll be far too out the loop. Good bye now

Here's some slayer peak that took as many delays as forgaing to drop

They stopped adding big content updates like the crimson isles because they weren't necessary anymore. The game is in a pretty good place. Most of what it needs are smaller updates in lots of areas.

i feel the admins have communicated the issues with foraging and revamping the code / moving to 1.21 and whatever pretty well, its a lot of work they have to do now to make the work in the future easier. rn they are making the stable foundation that will facilitate easier development on top of it, and while it sucks we dont get as much big content, ig they see it as a necessary evil so that the game works in modern versions / makes future updates better.

i do agree the servers are insanely bad sometimes though, dungeons during paul makes me wanna kms. admins please

all I'd really like is for them to find a way to buff the rate that foraging xp is gained, would take maybe an hour to add into some random patch note and would be really appreciable. Just because they plan on doing a large scale update for a piece of content, there shouldn't be a block of small-scale updates to said content in the meantime.

Opened the thread and got lost :(

Anyways I still rather they just focus on 1.20 rather than keep giving us major content drops via 1.8.9 anyways since it’s set the foundations and a lot of other islands transferring to 1.20 (like crimson isle I can see getting a revamp with 1.16 nether stuff) can also get upgraded too.

What's the point in playing anymore for endgame players or players who have completed most of the content that sane people do?
Smaller updates in lots of areas is good but almost fully neglecting the large content drop that is in the works for so long isn't good.

saying the game needs no content update is silly. Forgaing is a mess, hardly any one goes above foraging 20-24. This has been the case since the game released. Also new content is new content every can enjoy it and have fun.

For sure I 100% agree with that. That is what essentially happens with crimson Isles. But it's been so long and we've seen so many small updates that the foraging island just feels neglected

Mb I still gotta learn how to format these posts

I mean even currently skyblock takes so insanely long to complete, I don't really see point of adding more purely endgame content

There are only handful of players who have completed the game
For example only around 700 ppl have class average of 50 (Got this data from skyhelper which allows overflow, so not even certain all of those 700 truly have all classes at 50)

If you're endgame and think you've run out of stuff to do, restart or find another game to play. That's how games work. I'd rather them make bug fixes and niceties than another combat update right now, it's what skyblock needs. The only thing holding skyblock back from release is that and foraging update tbh.

I'm not saying they shouldn't work on foraging, but they're taking their time with it and that's fine. It's going to be a big update and it required huge backend changes. Give them time.

the fact that this post has a positive/negative ratio of 2:6 (as of writing this) is a good sign i think
a year ago a post like this would have gotten like 20 likes, i guess it means this game is improving
so thank you, bluetack, although your reaction score has been sacrificed, we now know more about the state of this game
