There was this player who used a bug to leave the map. Was it a bug?

Okay, so this player used a (I would say) bug, to leave the murder mystery map. Now I’m wondering if this actually is a bug? They used tnt to throw themselves out of the map over the barriers? Here’s a picture and the replay link:

oh yeah how you do this is you launch the horse with tnt and then ride it as its going up

its a haha funny moment people do it all the time
