How to fake a new item like a professional

I consider myself an item faking pro, not because I know how to make a convincing fake but because I know how to easily debunk item frauds
The easiest way to make a convincing fake item is to just get as many people as you can to gaslight the forums into believing something exists, like with the wizard amulet. This worked because there were little to no screenshots, which we will get into later.

The second example is the Kuudra's Eye incident, which worked because it did have screenshots which were well made and a lot of trusted people got in on the joke.

A failed example of a fake item I saw recently is the "Tanzanite Gemstone:"
fraud.jpg

This failed because the creator didn't make his pngs right and you can clearly see a command block back there by simply making the image brighter.

So if you want to make a fake item convincing, here's how to do it solo and easy:
1.Use a fake item generator to make an item with lore, or if you know how to do that manually go ahead. (Good one: https://www.gamergeeks.net/apps/minecraft/give-command-generator)

2. Make your item believable, so some OP item like a new free way to get handles would obviously be fake:

3. Making it relevant to a recent update, in this example the garden makes it even more believable nd because it takes so long to get on the alpha nobody is going to check anyways

4. If you choose to use a png, EDIT IT! Minecraft text boxes are by default TRANSPARENT, so it's really easy to tell when a text box was inserted into an image rather than actually being there.

You can see small details in the background on this one:
image(1).png

On this one you cannot:
orange.png

You then take that text bubble and insert it into a skyblock image. Remember, the dark part of the text bubble is slightly transparent but the text is not.
And with that, we have our fake!

"New crop on alpha! You can get oranges now!!"

Other than the fact that it's blatantly not true and I just told you it's fake, there are no clear giveaways that this screenshot is not real (other than it's in 1.19 which you can see by the increased size of items that use player head models)

The real best way to make a fake item is to simply not make one and just get so many people to collectively troll that people start thinking it's real.

Please don't use this information to actually try and trick people, it's just meant to be for goofyness.

Or code it into the game using mods but forget to bold the *

Or you can own a skyblock testing server and create the item, functionality and all, without screenshot editing.

But who would have something like that?
What's this? I have that? Well, whadaya know!

1.12+ has a feature called /function, in 1.13 and above it requires a datapack (but not in 1.12)
You can use § as an and code for the item, and it doesn't even use command blocks

You forgot about the hard-to-recreate Sidebar with spaces, and the health/defense/mana toolbar

btw a few redflags i've noticed with faked items:

Suspicion by lack of consistency: Player screenshots being incosistent with log dates, bad grammar (or in such way that the admins would not write at all), bad description replication (* bold O_O) or just doesn't make sense

Suspicion by lack of sources: Usually if it is only talked about by one player, or something which has supossedly only been leaked in nerds (not with recent fakes, but i've seen people doing it in the past. If nothing has changed, the admins rarely leak items to non-nerds role members and usually within hours of an update, Midas Staff is an example, also if you leak and they get to know about it you are beamed iirc), or just 1 screenshot. With kuudra's eye for example it was a smart trick to say the holder was nicked, making the source some uncheckable guy, yet it goes back to suspicion n1, it was also said a bunch of players were seen with it, if people had it why no one came foward with it?

Suspicion by bad balancing: You've mentioned this, but I would argue for stuff even slighly op. For example the wizard's amulet is badly balanced because there would never be lcm item outside of dungeons (at least the one i've seen the screenshot)

Suspicion by low availability: one easy way to make it seem more real is to have super requirements or be really rare so it is uncheckable. With how much people have been doing this I would say its uncheckability is more of a red flag than anything. There should be a fine balance.

So good luck to anyone creating fakes on fixing those flaws

I don’t think that symbol is able to be put into mc without a datapack.

It’s really not that hard to make, ill have a downloadable datapack for that eventually.

or just use command blocks correctly and place yourself in the right contexts.
i made these before they added the skin.

How /function works is you can put .mcfunction files into your world folder. The path is .minecraft/saves/(world name)/data/functions/(any name here)
(let's say "any name here" is tree)
Once that's set up, call the file (let's say apple.mcfunction) with /function tree:apple

The syntax is compatible with regular Notepad, and is simply a list of commands separated by line without the / in front of them. § is a special symbol for Minecraft in that it cannot be pasted directly, except for Book and Quill. You can actually kick yourself from a singleplayer world if you run a function which makes you /say or /me any message with § in it!

I knew it was possible with functions, I tend to associate functions with datapacks, since what you just explained is essentially the same thing anyway, just for that world specifically rather than any world with a datapack installed.

what did you do to get invisible entities displaying their names? I remember trying it for quite some time and failing miserably lmao
just world downloaded the dungeon hub with my pet out and then used the /entity command inside a command block to collect all the NBT data and changed whatever I needed to change (UUID, nametag etc) however I didn't need to change the nametag because it was already world downloaded

(i'm not that technical of a player to tell you how exactly hypixel did that)
