How Stupid Can One Be? (Exotic Armor)

BACKSTORY: You may or may not know, I am an exotic collector, and enjoy trying to obtain as much exotics as possible. I found this one kid in the hub who had an exotic different hex miner's outfit set and asked him how much he would like for it. The kid says he does not know how much the miner's set is worth, so he asks me to offer. I offer him 40m because of the set being different hex, which is not a bad offer in itself, but I was not completely interested in buying the set because I was sure I could find a better deal in exotic cafe for the set. Anyways I offer 40m, and the next day, (the day of this post) this happens:

Also right after he (or his friend idk) went to the big hubs saying that I was doing a rank giveaway, and that everyone should party me. Luckily I was afk when the party spamming happened.

EDIT: After reading this forum post, Snapp1 states that he was "

when they go low you should go lower
just start calling him a scammer for "baiting" you into an offer and when he asks why that makes him a scammer you should tell him "scammers always get angry when they get called scammers"
 
Yeah that's a terrible reason for calling someone a scammer. You are making an offer they didn't like and they got mad.

A real example of scamming would be the guy who went up to my co-op member who had dyed emerald armor and said something along the lines of "man I really need an emerald armor set, but I don't have the ability to craft it" in order to get their dyed chestplate. Trying to swindle people out of a 'valuable item' without even making an offer... that does seem like a scam.

I wonder who would do that SportsCards?

I do admit that in my past (last year ish) I, like other exotic collectors *cough avoided* tryed to snipe exotics from unknowledgeable players. As my coins have gone up, so has my knowledge between right and wrong. Anyways I don’t keep grudges (or try not to), but it appears impossible or others.
