You mysteriously wake up with 15 other players on the bones of a titan. While none of you remember about how you got to this strange land, something malicious is clearly afoot. When the moon reaches its peak, beware the horrors that lie beneath.

The idea: Set on the body of a decomposing titan, you find yourself in a world of horror and dark magic, the latter which has corrupted a player's mind, turning them into a murderer. But where did the titan come from? How did it get here?... and most importantly, are there more of them out there?

Pregame lobby:
A very simple pregame lobby here. Due to the titan being so large, players are free to roam the map and explore (similar to the pregame lobby on Ancient Tomb).

Guillotine - 2 gold
On the bottom floor, there are 3 guillotines surrounding the titan's heart. Players can drop a guillotine, killing all players in a 3x5 area beneath it. Afterwards, it will linger for a few moments, serving as a wall, before the rope is reconnected and it is raised up.
Special: the rope can be cut with a shot arrow or a knife throw, causing this trap to activate without costing any gold. This mechanic also has no cooldown, similar to the crushers on Spooky Mansion.

Collapsing Ground
Being located on the body of a decomposing titan, the ground tends to, well... decompose! Within certain sections of the map, there is a 20% chance of the body to decompose, dropping players to the floor below them. See below for a list of areas where the ground can collapse (roughly outlined in diamond squares for visibility)
Note: murderers tread softly, and as such, are unable to cause the ground to collapse. This also makes it so pursuing players in Classic mode isn't frustrating.

Sigil - 3 gold
The statue of this mysterious being will brand you with a sigil (coloured boots). The sigil grants double gold to any player who picks up gold with it. But could there also be some other price you're paying...?
Note: Sigils come in 9 different flavours, but all serve the same function. The colour is purely cosmetic.

Draining Spell - 2 arrows
This drains the life essence of all players with sigils on the map, attempting to reawaken the titan in the process. Unfortunately, a few measly souls is not nearly enough to reawaken the behemoth that is the titan (you'd need thousands to do that), but on the bright side, it will kill them!
Note: this mechanic is disabled in Infection due to an abundance of arrows.

Looking at the overall design you would think it's already the best-looking map out there. However, the way this map plays, the balance in gameplay, and the exciting game mechanics make this the best one yet. It is unparalleled by live maps, and it's just a shame that we can't play them on the Hypixel servers. We have an HPC member making maps the community has been wanting for years, some finished content just waiting for your attention @Hypixel Team @Fr0z3n @Cecer

This is extremely aesthetically pleasing to my eyes. :hypixel_heart_eyes:

The map mechanics are new and creative, the layout is fresh, and the building style is pretty similar to the current mm maps so it’s hard to tell that this actually isn’t an official map. (though this map is better in so many different aspects)

A map that would be a great addition to the current rotation. We need a petition to add this..

Everyone's giving praise to this, so allow me to give some negative criticism.

I don't know if it's just the screenshots taken, but the map looks a bit too dark for my liking. Maybe you just had a low brightness when exploring it, in which case it should be fine, but some of the areas look kind of hard to see.
 
Initial Thoughts:
Really like the map aesthetic and especially the unique map mechanics, there looks to have been a TON of work put into this

Gameplay wise, I think this would work really well in Classic and Double Up, and the 20% chance of the floor giving way in some areas is a great way to prevent endless looping

(nitpicking time)
However, I don't see the map playing exceptionally well in Assassins or Infection. For Assassins, each floor on its own is alright, but the connections between the two seem pretty annoying, and the 2nd floor's layout also seems a bit annoying in some tighter areas (at a first glance they look similar to Mountain's town area... which is my least favorite part of the map in assassins). This isn't to say that the map isn't good in Assassins--the bottom floor looks great for the mode and the majority of the second floor also looks amazing with how open it is. Also, will the same "murderer not activating pitfalls" also apply in assassins? If this is activated in Assassins it'd be a PAIN to hunt down your targets/assassins if they decide to start running or play defensively. Overall if the pitfall mechanic is disabled this would probably be the 2nd-5th best map in assassins.

In Infection it's hard to tell how good it is without actually playing the map, but there isn't a great amount of spots for survivors to camp, and combined with the 20% chance to fall into a probably infected-infested 1st floor while trying to maneuver around the map doesn't seem great. Although I could be completely wrong with this and the map is just encouraging a different, more aggressive playstyle for survivors (which is definitely more fun). The connectivity of each floor might make this difficult, as at every corner there's a good chance you'll run into an infected and immediately die. However, I could be completely wrong about all of this, and the map is great in Infection...it's hard to tell without playing (speaking of, will there ever be a map download?). Just from viewing the map though, there's a greater chance of it being pretty mid overall than being amazing to play.

The draining spell mechanic it seems pretty difficult to use, as you'll likely need the sigil boots in order to acquire the gold required for it to activate in the first place...essentially making the mechanic useless (unless it doesn't kill you if you were the one putting in arrows... but it seems like multiple people can put arrows in and that seems like hell to code/figure out). This might not be the case if multiple people put arrows in, but more likely than not this would just benefit the murderers (aside from in double up, but that requires actual teamwork from the other murderer--something we know is not gonna happen). This mechanic IS super cool, but being able to use it to your advantage seems to be a pretty niche scenario.

The guillotine's secret activation method is REALLY COOL, but I can already see Hypixel not registering the arrow and ruining it. It also seems pretty difficult to use effectively, especially when you could just shoot the murderer. Maybe this could be expanded on to include knife throws as an activation method as well, making the mechanic both a chase prolonger and a chase ender.

Outside of that though, this map is really great, and if added would be one of if not the best map in the game. Really wish Hypixel would get off their asses and add some quality community-made maps like this one to the game. Great work Jet!

Anyways, love the amount of detail/references to the source material, like the Slitherbeast, Apple Blood, Titan's Heart, Belos Statue, etc. During the premiere I immediately noticed Icon's Thene, and the S3E1 Theme too. Would the titan's eyes lighting be a reference to the deleted and aired scene in the start of E6? The build and gameplay are very good from my (easter) eyes.

I don't know if it's just the screenshots taken, but the map looks a bit too dark for my liking. Maybe you just had a low brightness when exploring it, in which case it should be fine, but some of the areas look kind of hard to see.
That's definitely fair. I know a few areas on the first floor (particularly the barrels section and the corner by the broken cage) are very dark, but those can be fixed.

The top of the houses are also dark, but that's an intentional design choice. If you look super closely, you can actually see eyeballs in the circular windows of each house. I wanted it to give the effect of eyes subtly watching the players from the shadows. Whereas other maps like Darkfall and Snowglobe will actually have 2nd floor windows lit up.

The thumbnail icon is also really dark, although I would like to note that that is actually a render and not reflective of the actual map's brightness. I'm not a fan of renders/shader pictures for similar reasons and they overamplify bright/dark sections, but I kind of had to here there was no way other way for me to show the full picture of the titan.

Honestly, I intended the bottom floor to be a highlight for assassins, where maps that force players through a centralized area tend to allow for higher-kill games (e.g Mountain, Subway). My thought process was the pitfalls would redirect players to the central areas of the bottom floor, making them easier to kill and leading to Subway-esque chain scenarios.

That being said, an argument can also be made for the top floor being very good as well for Assassins (with lots of shortcuts between houses to make cutting off players very easy), and having the pitfalls would negatively impact this experience as you mentioned. It's difficult to say without playtesting the map.

You're right on the money here. The entire theme of the map is "go with the flow" and adapting to your circumstances - less camping/looping, more dynamic play across all modes. Here the most aggressive area would certainly be the titan's heart, where the guillotines are positioned in such a way for dynamic gameplay, where you're deciding which guillotine to shoot and use it as a temporary wall while infected approach from the other sides and aggressively fight them.

The statue on the top floor would probably be the best area for "camping". Like Subway though, it has many lines of sight for knife throws so survivor camping strategies are only effective at the beginning of the game, and quickly dwindle down in viability as the game progresses, forcing players to go on the offensive.

speaking of, will there ever be a map download?
Problem is that when community map submissions were around, posting a public download link to the map was an instant disqualification. So... if people want to potentially see it live on the server, whenever that may be (2030 by current estimates of our chief scientists), the answer would unfortunately have to be no.

I can however load it up on a build server that allows users to permanently delete schematics off the servers, and have people be able to see it that way for a bit. Got quite a few requests for this, so might do a brief tour on the weekend.

It's meant to be a long-term thing that really has people think before purchasing them. Like I mentioned previously, it's all about understanding the pacing of the game and going with the flow. Fast game? Sigils will be a good thing to buy. Slower game? Murderer will be more likely saving up for this, and can heck you over with a guaranteed death, then pick off the remainders.

Likewise, if innocents see a murderer with a sigil (maybe going for an aggro-gold strategy themselves as they rampage), innocents can also activate the draining spell and instantly kill the murderer that way. It's all about assessing the current state of the game and reacting appropriately. I really wanted to incorporate the old style of maps where you need to consider mind games that other players will try to play with you (e.g Towerfall trap shenanigans, baiting the trap vs crossing vs using back door, Transport with chasing people vs cutting them off via transport tubes, e.t.c) in it.

Special thanks to Kyeex for suggesting the arrow activation idea, actually. Originally it was just going to be guillotines suspended from ropes (to fit with the sort of gory nature of the map), but the idea just seemed so natural that I had to include it. I see no reason why knives shouldn't be able to fulfill a similar role as well, leading to even more interesting mind games with them in chase sequences.

It'd definitely see the most use in Assassins and Infection. It'll be more difficult to use in Classic, but would open up an interesting alternate playstyle for detectives where they can try to mass-murder as many innocents as they can using the guillotines - although doing so would make them lose the element of surprise, making them an easy target for murderers who can easily pick them off while their bows are on cooldown.

Correct. Now obviously I can't reanimate a thousand-block tall titan without breaking minecraft's height limit and the computers of everyone playing on the map, so I chose the more tame option :hypixel_tongue:

This is great! Pretty much everything everyone has said here in the thread is something I have a thought of, so I'll drop by and say that I really think positively of this map!
 
First impressions:
This map looks amazing, it combines the elements of a lot of the all time greatest mm maps, along with having some special flair of its own.
I especially love the idea of knife throws and bow shots being able to trigger a trap, because that could make for some insane long distance plays to kill someone. (Does it count as a trap kill for you if you trigger the trap that way?)
I’m really interested in how the pitfalls would work, it seems like something that, under the right circumstances, can either be annoying, funny, or work as a really cool movement mechanic. Though I agree it should be disabled in assassins, and possibly infection (maybe just for infected, like how it’s disabled for mur?)
For the draining life essence of all people with sigils, does that just mean kill them? If so, that’s a really cool mechanic, and I would like to know whether it counts for kills, and if so, what type of kill it would count for.
I’ll write another post later when I have more time to analyze this map, but so far, it looks amazing, definitely a top 3 map for me in classic/du.
