Hello!
Today we're opening up the Alpha Network with a large amount of content spread across several areas of the game. If you're interested, take a look below!
UPDATE (18/11/2024): Changes related to Crimson Isles will not roll with this release as we are ironing out some details regarding item balancing, namely the Kuudra armors and spawning changes. The Crimson Isles changes are not cancelled and will release as soon as they're ready.
► Pesthunter's Wares
Our goal with this part of the update is to flesh out Philip's offerings in the Pesthunter's Wares menu, which previously only had an accessory line. Rather than using Coins, this shop now uses Pests as a currency.
Bait can be placed in the orange slot, while trapped Pests are kept within the Iron Bars!
Pests can be lured by placing Bait in the trap (Plant Matter, Dung, etc.). Once caught, Pests consume a Bait from the trap and you are allowed to release them from the trap to be vacuumed. Pest Traps can hold up to 2 pests, essentially allowing you to come back to more pests in your garden after partaking in other content.
Pest Traps can be purchased from Pesthunter Phillip for 50 Pests. An improved version of the Pest Trap, the Mouse Trap, can also be purchased from him, costing 125 Pests. Compared to the standard Pest Trap, these can hold an additional Pest and are x3 as likely to catch a new Pest: the Field Mouse!
The aim here is for all Pests to contribute relatively equally towards Garden Milestones, which is much healthier than the current rates which massively favor some pests more than others.
14TH NOV NOTE: The table below is now OUTDATED. Please check the 'Pesthunter's Wares Day 3 Changes' spoiler at the top of the thread for a more up-to-date table.
We are also doing a pass on Pest RNG Crop Drops, as this is a pain point currently due to Flies being way better than any other Pest in this department. The new RNG crop drops can be seen below.
Both tables are not final and are more than likely going to change throughout this Alpha as we observe how the new rates feel, and if they're sustainable in the long-run.
► Chocolate Factory
We are introducing a slew of new features and changes to the Chocolate Factory with this update. Our goal is to make the collecting experience feel less grind-y and to allow you to target specific Rabbits!
The Rabbit Hitman has 28 slots for eggs, purchasable for coins. Once you miss an egg during Hoppity's Hunt, the Rabbit Hitman will automatically gather it for you if he has an open slot. Eggs can then be opened through the Hitman's menu. Once you open an egg from a slot it goes on cooldown (stacks in increments of 20 minutes).
Lime Dye are open slots while Red Dye are slots on cooldown
We have also introduced many new Rabbits called "Residents" which can ONLY be found on their given Hotspot/island. Rabbits that are considered Residents can be easily identified in the Hoppity's Collection menu. The Achievement Rabbits that have requirements tied to specific islands are now also Residents of that island.
► Crimson Isle
To round out this update we are introducing a ton of improvements and balance changes to content found on the Crimson Isle. In the future we would like to continue improving this island.
► Bug Fixes
As always there are many bugs that have also been fixed. If you run into any new bugs for this alpha session, please report them at https://hypixel.net/bug-reports/create (make sure you select alpha.hypixel.net!).
That's all for today!
Changes mentioned here may not be on Alpha at the time of writing, but are planned!
- A Beginner's Guide to Pesthunting will receive a custom texture rather than a vanilla book.
- Biohazard Armor will have its rarity reduced from Rare -> Uncommon on account of its predecessor, Mushroom Armor, having a base rarity of Common.
- Guaranteed crop drops from pests will use farmingfortune+cropfortune for that crop instead of just farmingfortune in calculating the total crop drops.
- The Field Mouse pest will be given a random guaranteed crop drop when killed (can be any crop). This drop scales as it normally would when dropped from its resident pest.
- Removed base Farming Fortune from Biohazard Armor.
- Mushroom Armor & Biohazard Armor's tripling abilities now only work while in The Garden.
Changes mentioned here may not be on Alpha at the time of writing, but are planned!
Please give your feedback as we continue to make further changes - it's much appreciated <3
- Increase Slug’s RNG Crop Drops from 3x Red/Brown Mushroom Block to 15x
- Increase NPC sell price of Cactus from 3 -> 4
- Increase NPC sell price of Enchanted Cactus Green from 480 -> 640
- Increase NPC sell price of Enchanted Cactus from 76,800 to 102,400
Decrease NPC sell price of Nether Wart from 4 -> 3Decrease NPC sell price of Enchanted Nether Wart from 640 -> 480Decrease NPC sell price of Mutant Nether Wart from 102,400 -> 76,800- Our rationale for this change was that Beetle was by far and away the best pest for NPC selling in terms of guaranteed crops from pests, but we will hold off on it for the time being seeing as it's not as effective when NPC selling via manual farming.
- Instead of granting +1 crop, Hedgehog Pet and Beady Bonus will instead now grant +100 Farming Fortune on Pests, allowing for scaling to occur on a crop-by-crop basis.
- Dung Dye odds now scale with Farming Fortune instead of Magic Find.
- Made further adjustments to guaranteed pest crop drops (see below). Please note that you can get additional bonus crops from the Hedgehog Pet and Beady Eyes reforge in addition to being able to have more pests overall (which we anticipate will be used when gunning for contest PBs) due to pest/mouse traps.

► Pesthunter's Wares
Our goal with this part of the update is to flesh out Philip's offerings in the Pesthunter's Wares menu, which previously only had an accessory line. Rather than using Coins, this shop now uses Pests as a currency.
➥ Pest & Mouse Traps
Traps are new infinitely reusable items that you can place within your Garden Plots to catch Pests while you are offline! All you have to do is check in on them every now and then to ensure they're filled with bait.Bait can be placed in the orange slot, while trapped Pests are kept within the Iron Bars!
➥ New Pest: Field Mouse
The Field Mouse is a new Pest that is only found within Pest and Mouse Traps. Field Mice are considered "elusive" mobs, meaning they are affected by Enderman Slayer LVL 9's perk. Field Mice drop 1 of every type of Bait when vacuumed, but they also have two rare items that are unique drops: the Squashed Toy and the Squeaky Mousemat.➥ New Items
- Squashed Toy: Equipment Reforge that grants Farming Fortune, Bonus Pest Chance, and a decreased spawn cooldown for Pests (dropped rarely from Field Mice)
- Squished Mousemat: A fairly unique item that lets you quickly set your pitch and yaw (dropped rarely from Field Mice)
- Biohazard Armor: An upgrade to Mushroom Armor that gives Bonus Pest Chance and increases Pest crop drops
(purchased from Pesthunter Philip) - Pesthunter's Gloves: Equipment piece that grants Bonus Pest Chance and a decreased spawn cooldown for Pests (purchased from Pesthunter Philip)
- A Beginner's Guide to Pesthunting: When applied to an armor piece upgrades Pesterminator V to VI (purchased from Pesthunter Philip)
- Hedgehog Pet: Farming Pet that lets you kill Pests faster (even during Derpy) and makes them drop more crops (purchased from Pesthunter Philip)
- Pesthunter's Lair Barn Skin: A cool new Barn Skin for the most determined of Pesthunters! (purchased from Pesthunter Philip)
➥ Changes to Wheat
- Enchanted Hay Bales (old version) and Tightly-Tied Hay Bales have been replaced with Enchanted Wheat and Enchanted Hay Bales (new version)
- They are crafted with x160 Wheat and x160 Enchanted Wheat respectively (like most other recipes)
- All places in the game that previously used Enchanted Hay Bales (old version) and Tightly-Tied Hay Bales now use Enchanted Wheat and Enchanted Hay Bales (new version)
- Added a legacy trades menu accessible through
/ltrades
that allows players to trade in the old versions of items for new ones (right now it only has Enchanted Hay Bales (old version) and Tightly-Tied Hay Bales)
➥ Balancing
- Swapped the Pesterminator Enchant's Farming Fortune and Bonus Pest Chance bonuses
- The Buzzing Reforge (from Clipped Wings) now grants Farming Fortune instead of Speed
- The Beady Reforge (from Beady Eyes) now only drops 1 additional crop instead of 3
- The T-Rex Pet's Tyrant perk now only increases combat stats
The aim here is for all Pests to contribute relatively equally towards Garden Milestones, which is much healthier than the current rates which massively favor some pests more than others.
14TH NOV NOTE: The table below is now OUTDATED. Please check the 'Pesthunter's Wares Day 3 Changes' spoiler at the top of the thread for a more up-to-date table.
