    If you are a popular YouTuber with a large channel, you may be eligible for the YouTuber rank here at Hypixel. The rank comes with some benefits to make recording videos on the network easier. This includes our nickname feature to avoid players targeting you in games while you are trying to record, a [YOUTUBE] tag and red name to stand out when you want to be seen.

    You can find out our requirements for our YouTuber rank and how to apply below.

    Requirements for YouTube Channels
    Including YouTube Live Streamers

    For any YouTube channels wishing to apply for the YT rank, your channel must meet the following requirements:
    • 30,000 or more subscribers for gaming channels with regular Minecraft content.
    • 100,000 or more subscribers for gaming channels with irregular (but still some) Minecraft content.
    • A reasonable number of views per video (1000 or more views within a few days of release on all videos).
    • An active YouTube channel producing original gaming content regularly.
    • Have uploaded some Minecraft related videos (not necessarily Hypixel Network related).

    We may also consider some smaller YouTube channels which are above 20,000 subscribers for another rank on the network, though we cannot give the YT rank to these channels. See the spoiler below for our reasoning on this.

    If your YouTube channel meets these requirements, you can click the button below to submit an application for the YT rank on the Hypixel Network.

    Please note that channels meeting these requirements are still not guaranteed a rank on the Hypixel Network. All ranks are decided on a case by case basis by the Hypixel administration team, and we may decline to give a rank for any reason. We will only give ranks to the owners of channels, who are producing regular content for the channel.

    To apply for the YT rank based on your YouTube channel, you have two options:
    Please include both your in-game name and a link to (not just name of) your channel with your email. If you have a business contact address listed on your YouTube channel, please use this email if possible as this will allow us to handle your application more quickly.

    This email address is NOT for ban appeals, ideas, feedback, etc., and is for content creator related queries and YT rank applications only. All other queries will be directed back to the appropriate place.

    Hypixel Support

    You will need to register a Hypixel Support account.
    Please use the Submit Ticket option and then select the YouTuber Application department.
    You will be asked to enter your in-game name and, if applicable, your name as well as provide a link to your channel(s) (its name alone is not enough).

    Why do you limit the YT rank to users with over 30,000 subscribers?
    We have to limit the YT rank to users with more than this number of subscribers to restrict the level of demand for the rank on the network. All applications that we receive for the YT rank have to be dealt individually by a member of the team here at Hypixel, and the process is pretty intensive as we have to verify each application and decide on each on a case by case basis. As the number of applications grows practically exponentially as the requirement is lowered, we have to set the limit at a level that we can handle regarding the average number of applications received.

    Can I get a rank without having 30,000 subscribers?
    While we can't consider all channels on YouTube for a rank, if your channel is gaming related and you have more than 20,000 subscribers we can consider your channel for a rank. Please see the "Information for Smaller Channels" section below.

    I saw a player with YT with less than 30k subscribers! Why?!
    Please note that YouTube channels are only one of the factors that we take into consideration when giving the YT rank to users. Some users may have been given the YT rank based on other sources, such their channel on a streaming site such as Twitch or Beam. In some exceedingly rare cases, we may also choose to give a rank to users for other reasons, but these are at our discretion and are not applied for.

    Am I guaranteed a rank if I meet the requirements?
    Simply put, no. All applications are considered on a case by case basis, and we may decline to give a rank in specific cases for any reason (see "What types of content do you not accept?" for some example reasons we'd decline to give a rank). That said, in most cases, we will be able to give some rank if you meet the requirements provided there are no concerns about your channel or the practices it is supporting.

    I make non-gameplay but still gaming related content, such as animations, machinimas or other non-gameplay content. Do I qualify for a rank?
    In most cases, yes you do qualify as much as any YouTuber producing gameplay content does. This means that your channel needs to meet the same requirements as other channels. However, we usually don't expect to see uploads as regularly from these channels due to the time it takes to make this type of content (e.g., monthly uploads for an animation channel is still regular). We may look for higher numbers of views per video, however, to compensate for the reduced number of videos if this is the case.

    I upload other users content onto my channel. Do I qualify for a rank?
    In most cases, if you are uploading other users content onto your channel you will not qualify for a rank on the Hypixel Network. We don't support taking content from other YouTubers and cannot support it. However, we do make exceptions to this for channels using clips of other users videos (not whole videos) for critique, or other fair use purposes (e.g., short clips with your own content) provided this is only part of a larger set of content on the channel.

    What types of content do you not accept?
    While we're not overly picky about the kinds of content that we accept, we do not accept channels which contain certain types of content for the YT rank. For example, we do not accept channels which upload any of the following:
    • content which involves the intentional violation of our server rules for any reason;
    • content focused on cheating or hacking in-game, or which supports, advertises or endorses cheating in any way;
    • content focused on hacking or griefing servers;
    • content of an adult nature, or content which is otherwise highly inappropriate or offensive;
    • content focused on illegal or other similarly concerning activities.
    This list is not entirely comprehensive, but these are the primary reasons why we would decline an application. As a general rule to follow on this, however, if it's something that's widely frowned upon by other content creators or is flat out against the YouTube content guidelines, we probably won't accept it either.

    Will I get a response to my application even if declined?
    While we would love to be able to send a response to every request we receive for the YT rank on the network, due to the sheer number we get we cannot do so in many cases, especially in cases where the channel is far under the requirements.

    All accepted applications will receive a response with some basic details of the rank.
    While we cannot give the YT rank to channels with under 30,000 subscribers in order to restrict the demand for the rank (please see the reasoning in the Frequently Asked Questions), we can currently consider channels with more than 20,000 subscribers that produce regular gaming content for an alternate rank, such as VIP+ or MVP. Please do note that we do expect videos on these channels to be achieving at least 500 views per video within a few (usually 3-5) days of release.

    If your channel meets these requirements, please use the same application method listed above.

    Requirements for Streamers
    Excluding YouTube streamers. Please see above requirements for YouTube.

    We may sometimes also give the rank to streamers on sites such as Twitch (YouTube streamers should see the above requirements), though this is at our discretion and will depend on a variety of other factors.

    While we don't currently lay out full requirements for streamers on various sites, as what we look at from site to site does vary, we do ask for all of the following as a minimum:
    • Approximately 30,000 or more followers (or equivalent).
      This means default, non-paid tier followers (e.g. followers rather than subscribers on Twitch).
    • Approximately 50* concurrent viewers or more.
      This is your average simultaneous viewers on streams, not a one-time peak. * This is somewhat dependant on the streaming service, and may be slightly higher or lower for more or less popular sites.
    • An active and regular streaming schedule.
      Streaming on a regular and predictable (i.e. scheduled) basis, not on rare and unpredictable occasions. We have to review your streams when considering these ranks, so us being able to check your streams is critical.
    • Ideally, streaming Minecraft content on a frequent and regular basis.
    If you choose to apply for the YT rank based on your Twitch channel, please remember to include your average concurrent viewership (you'll find this in your Twitch dashboard) and the times when you usually stream (including timezone) in your email. Please note that these applications may take longer as well as we do, in most cases, have to see several streams of yourself to verify these statistics and make a decision.

    To apply for the YT rank based on your Twitch or other streaming channels (excluding YouTube), you have two options:

    Send an email to
    Please include "YOUTUBE Rank Application - Streaming Channel" in the email subject, and include your in-game name and a link to your channel(s) (names alone are not enough) in the email.

    Register a Hypixel Support account at
    Please use the Submit Ticket option
    Select the Youtuber Application department
    You will be asked to enter your in-game name and, if applicable, your name.
    As well as provide a link to your channel (its name alone is not enough).

    - We've set out some of our minimum requirements for streaming based applications to ensure that it is more clear what we require for streaming based applications. We formerly didn't publicly set follower requirements for these applications, but this has been changed to be more in-line with our YouTube based applications.
    - Channels which have received the rank previously based upon streaming channels under our older requirements and do net meet the new requirements will retain the YOUTUBE rank for the present, unless the rank is abused or rules are broken (please see below). All new applications (including reapplications if a rank is removed) must meet the set requirements.

    Note on our Network Rules and YouTubers

    Almost all network rules still apply to YouTubers. Please make sure to read through our Network Rules thread before you play on the server. The YouTuber rank is likely to create a level of respect for you on our network, so please don't abuse it.

    The only exception to these rules made for YouTubers is our rule on advertising social media. YouTubers are permitted to provide links to their social media accounts, such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, etc., provided it is done in a reasonable and respectful manor. YouTubers are not however permitted to advertise their own communities, such as forums, gaming servers (e.g. Minecraft) or voice servers (e.g. Discord, TeamSpeak, etc.).

    Still Confused?

    If you need any more assistance, a member of our staff team should be able to help. Either send them a message on the forums, email, or talk to them on the server. We will try our best to answer any questions and queries you bring to us as quickly as possible.
