I've been told 4 but also 5. Can anyone confirm please?

 

5 is max, which is a 40% extra damage on dragons

legends have it that it has no lvl cap but no one wants to spend so much money on it

 

I've heard that you can get it at lvl 6 as a rare drop from killing the dragon, but that seems unlikely to me.
