    Hello again!

    As we've mentioned before in other news posts, we are working on the Classic Games update that will not only improve your gameplay experience, but also remove a ton of pesky bugs you've seen over the time. For those unfamiliar with the recent roadmap for the classic games, you can visit this thread.

    A new update has been released for Walls, available to play now in the Classic Lobby. Read on below for a full list of changes and additions or play it right now by clicking the Classic Lobby NPC, game menu icon, or using the command /lobby classic.

    In this update, a lot of the code base has been cleaned up to make it easier for developers to work on the game in the future, so if you find any bugs or issues, as always, please report them in the bugs section on the forums HERE.

    New Maps
    This update includes 4 new amazing maps built by the Hypixel Builders, as well as an improve version of Jungle.

    Jungle
    Jungle has been improved by having a new cave entrances added to the middle of the map and more ores spread out throughout the cave. We hope this will balance out gameplay on this map and make it easier for new and veteran players to gather resources before they go into battle! We look forwards to hearing your opinions on the changes.

    Gameplay Changes
    We've made some changes to the gameplay in the Walls, including reducing the preparation time by a third, changing the starting gear to help newer players, and introducing some quality of life changes to speed up and improve gameplay during the beginning of the game!

    Preparation Time has been reduced to 10 minutes
    We have made a few changes in this update which will help speed up preparation time before the walls fall. As a result, we have reduced the delay before the Walls fall to 10 minutes, and will be monitoring this change to see how it affects game play.

    Starting Gear
    We have adjusted the started gear for all players slightly to make the game easier for newer players, as well as to speed up the start of each game so you don't have to spend as much time gathering resources.

    As a result, some changes have been made to the Starters shop. See Shop Changes in General Changes below.

    Starting Items:
    • Leather Armor
    • Stone Pickaxe
    • Stone Axe
    • Enchanting Table
    • 3 String
    • 6 Arrows
    • Compass
    Fast Smelting
    To speed up the mundane process of smelting ores, we have added fast smelting mechanics which will drastically speed up smelting ores, allowing you to prepare for the fight faster!

    • Players can now place and break blocks after a game has ended.
    • Cat's Eye Starter Night Vision potion duration has been increased to 10 minutes from 2:15 minutes.
    • You will be teleported to your spawn location if you fall into the void while the walls are still up.
    • If you drink a potion of an effect you already have, but with a longer duration or higher amplifier, it will override the effect you have instead of doing nothing.

    Shop Changes
    We have made some changes to the shop, including adding 3 new perks and 2 new Starters. Furthermore, we have cleaned up and balanced out the Starters and Perk menus, as well as added some quality of life features to improve the users experience when using the shop in the lobby.

    Basic Starters
    • Ecologist Starter, which gives 8 Oak Logs for 3500 Coins, has been added to the shop.
    • Dwarven Skills, Grave Digger, Stone Guardian, and Canadian Starters have been removed from the shop.
    • Hunter Starter has changed to:
      • 5 Arrows - 1350 Coins
      • 10 Arrows - 1950 Coins
      • 15 Arrows - 2550 Coins
      • 20 Arrows - 10000 Coins
      • 25 Arrows - 20000 Coins
    • Sage Starter has changed to:
      • 1 Bookshelf - 1450 Coins
      • 2 Bookshelves - 1700 Coins
      • 3 Bookshelves - 1950 Coins
    • Master Troll has changed to:
      • 16 Snowballs - 3000 Coins
      • 32 Snowballs - 6000 Coins
      • 64 Snowballs - 10000 Coins
    • An extra level has been added to the Necromancer Starter: 3 Bones and 2 Oak Saplings for 1600 Coins.
    • Level 2 and 3 of Chemist has been removed due to 3 and 4 Splash Potions of Harming being too powerful in combat.
    Advanced Starters
    • Grim Reaper Starter which gives 1 Skeleton Egg for 120000 Coins has been added to the shop.
    • Boss Skills and Scotsman Starters have been removed from the shop.
    • That's Hot Starter has changed to:
      • 1 Furnace - 7900 Coins
      • 2 Furnaces - 10500 Coins
      • 4 Furnaces - 15900 Coins
    • An extra level has been added to the Really Shiny Starter: 1 Beacon and 9 Emerald Blocks for 78000 Coins.
    • The Very Fortunate Starter has changed to:
      • 1 Stone Pickaxe (Fortune III) - 70000 Coins
      • 1 Iron Pickaxe (Fortune II) - 90000 Coins
      • 1 Diamond Pickaxe (Fortune II) - 360000 Coins
    • The Get To The Choppa! Starter has changed to:
      • 1 Stone Axe (Efficiency III) - 70000 Coins
      • 1 Iron Axe (Efficiency III, Unbreaking I) - 80000 Coins
      • 1 Diamond Axe (Efficiency III, Unbreaking II) - 90000 Coins
    Perks
    • Tragedy Perk has been added to the shop:
      • 3 seconds of Resistance 1 when a Teammates dies - 6000 Coins
      • 5 seconds of Resistance 1 when a Teammates dies - 9000 Coins
      • 7 seconds of Resistance 1 when a Teammates dies - 15000 Coins
    • Attractor Perk has been added to the shop:
      • 5% chance to not use an arrow when shooting with the Bow - 5000 Coins
      • 15% chance to not use an arrow when shooting with the Bow - 15000 Coins
      • 30% chance to not use an arrow when shooting with the Bow - 30000 Coins
    • Blacksmith Perk has been added to the shop:
      • 5% chance to gain double experience when cooking items in a Furnace - 6000 Coins
      • 15% chance to gain double experience when cooking items in a Furnace - 9000 Coins
      • 30% chance to gain double experience when cooking items in a Furnace - 15000 Coins
    • 2 extra levels have been added to Vitality:
      • Gain 30 seconds of Health Boost I when the Walls fall - 30000 Coins
      • Gain 40 seconds of Health Boost I when the Walls fall - 40000 Coins
    • Furnace Protection and /shout purchases have been removed from the shop. Instead, they are now available to all players by default - /shout can be used every 30 seconds.
    General Changes
    We have made a bunch of general quality of life and improvement changes to Walls to make the game easier to player and to bring the game up to date with features used throughout the network.

    New Achievements
    11 new Walls achievements have been added, for a total of 110 extra Achievement points. They are:
    • Record Label - 5 Points - Play a music disc in a Jukebox.
    • Flamin' Hot - 10 Points -Kill a player while on fire.
    • Wiped Out - 15 Points -Kill 4 players who are on the same team in under 15 seconds.
    • Robin Hood - 10 Points -Win a game only using the a Bow to deal damage.
    • Untouched - 15 Points -Win a game without taking any damage.
    • Not Today! - 10 Points -Kill a player who currently has the Strength effect.
    • True Power - 5 Points -Obtain a Sharpness III Iron Sword before the walls fall.
    • That's Not A Fish! - 5 Points -Catch a Bow while fishing.
    • Customized - 5 Points -Use the Layout Editor to customize your inventory layout.
    • Finding Nemo - 5 Points - Catch a Clownfish when fishing.
    • Rare Ore Miner - 5/10/15/20/25 Points - Mine 5/20/50/100/150 Diamonds
    Scoreboard Improvements
    Players will now be able to see each others health in the tab list and above each others head in-game.

    • Reduced the number of kills required for the daily quest from 10 kills to 5.
    • Reduced the number of kills required for the weekly quest from 50 kill to 25.
    • Reduced the number of games played for the weekly quest from 12 games to 7.
    • Furnace Protection has been removed from the shop, it is now available to all players.
    • Shout has been removed from the shop. /shout is now available to all players to use every 30 seconds.
    • Protected blocks' names are now correctly capitalized in chat.
    • Name-tags are now colored in the pregame.
    • Win prefixes have been added.
    • The Lobby shop won't close anymore after purchasing Perks or toggling Starters.
    • Added an icon in the Toggle Starters menu to toggle off all starters, allowing you to start from scratch and enable the starters you want to use.
    • Added players health to tab and below names.

    Bug Fixes
    We have fixed some of those pesky bugs that you hated in Walls, including stats not saving for players who had disconnected/were dead, layout editor issues, perk bugs and more!

    • Diamond blocks which are part of the map will no longer be dropped by TNT
    • Fixed /surface teleporting you to the ground if you are in the sky/in a skybase.
    • Fixed a bug with the layout editor not saving item positions correctly if another item in the layout was the same type.
    • Fixed win quests not counting for players who were on the winning team but disconnected, or were dead at the end of the game.
    • Added more checks to prevent players taking items out of the layout editor in the lobby.
    • Fixed Vitality perk not filling your health bar after it gave you health boost.
    • Fixed King's Rod and King's Scepter items on Dwarven.
    • Fixed Sole Survivor achievement.
    • Fixed Final Blow message not displaying for the last kill of the game, but instead for kills after the game has ended.
    • Fixed Triple Kill message not displaying correctly.
