We just released The Pit v0.3.5 update to the Prototype Lobby. ▶ In a nutshell New Map: Four Seasons New Feature: Mystic Well (Custom Item Enhancement) New Event: Robbery Lots of balance changes Bugfixes Developer Note [ As spoke about in our July Developer Summary (Here) 1.13 caused a few delays to this update and to make sure you didn't have to wait any longer, we wanted to release the content we have ready. In May, we hosted Pit Event Contest and we were overwhelmed by the response with over 2500+ submissions. Moving forward to v0.4, we plan to add more of these event ideas and fix any potential bugs that arise from this update.] For full information, make sure to continue reading. ▶ Second Map: Four Seasons To keep the game fresh, we added a new map called Four Seasons, which will be available to play for the next two weeks then a weekly map rotation will be introduced. Featuring: Four new quarters based on seasons Optimized pathing routes Familiar pregame layout Small but 11/10 difficulty parkour in safe area Dedicated fishing grotto Screenshots of the four quarters: Spoiler: Autumn Spoiler: Winter Spoiler: Spring Spoiler: Summer ▶ Mystic Well Prestige I+ players get access to the Mystic Well, a powerful tool to progress beyond perks and prestiges. Whenever you kill a player, there's a small (upgrade-able) chance that your victim will drop a Mystic item. You can then enchant these mystic items up to 3 times (tier I, II, III). The Mystic Well requires the new Mysticism tiered renown upgrade. Only at Mysticism III will you be able to get access to the more powerful Tier III enchants. Tier III enchants require colored pants, which are also found from killing players and care packages. With Mysticism IX, you can even enchant the pants and wear them! The Mystic Well also introduces a new concept: Item lives. As you enchant items, they gain a certain amount of lives. Every time you die with the item, it loses 1 life, eventually disappearing into the nether. Spoiler: The Blob (a rare tier III enchant) Spoiler: Pants Radar enchant There is over 120 custom enchants, some of them exceedingly rare and some deadly combination options. ▶ Robbery Event Robbery is a new major event based on a community suggestion. Spoiler: Bonuses ▶ Balance changes Damage Quick Maths We changed how damage calculation works in the game. Simply, damage multipliers are now additive instead of multiplicative. Spoiler: Damage Changes Let's say you are running this setup: Strength Chaining (1.5x) First Strike (1.4x) Bounty Hunter hitting a 5,000g bounty (1.5x) Using a diamond sword (1.2x) Damage passive (1.05x) Before the update, you would deal 1.5*1.4*1.5*1.2*1.05 = 3.969x base damage Now, you would deal 1 + 0.5 + 0.4 + 0.5 + 0.2 + 0.05 = 2.65x base damage This was done because the multipliers on some new enchants would be too imbalanced, limiting the ideas we could add. This also reduced the chance of getting one-shot from players with both bounty hunters and strength chains. Perk changes Spoiler: Perk Changes Golden Heads Reduced absorption hearts from 3 -> 2 Gapples buffed from 2 -> 3, with a max of 5 hearts Recon Perk Was "Each second arrow shot at someone rewards +4XP and deals +25% damage" Now "Each fourth arrow shot at someone rewards +40XP and deals +50% damage" Lava bucket Doubled lava damage Vampire Ranged heal only tripled on critical (fully charged) shots. Now grants Regen II (s) on kill Rambo Max hearts from 5 -> 8 Dirty Res duration from 5s -> 4s First Strike Damage from 40% -> 35% Barbarian Damage increased by 0.25 (now +1 over sword) Strength Chaining Max damage nerfed from 50% -> 40% Max stacks from 10 -> 5, so it's faster to get max damage. Event Changes Spoiler: Event Changes Increased care package despawn time Disabled block placing around care packages Stopped players from placing blocks around the raffle box Increased KOTH radius by 2 Players are launched into KOTH while it's active Added 2 more beasts in the beast event Rambo disabled as beast Bugs and minor changes Spoiler: Bugs and minor changes Passive XP now scales based on prestige multiplier Removed arrows from the shop Falling down the map now instantly kills the player Now shows server name in the scoreboard Chat now displays your exact prestige Now resetting streak when inside pregame Only the person who fished an item can pick it up Increased number of gold ingots by a lot Fixed being able to place blocks on the glass before rage pit Reduced the super loud care package breaking sound We are very excited to see what players will do with this pants-based enchant system.
