  1. » SKYBLOCK INTRODUCTION
Skyblock is the newest game on the Hypixel network. It's currently available for everyone to play by clicking on the NPC in the Prototype lobby, by pressing on the head icon in the server selector menu, or by executing the command /play skyblock. In this guide I'll try to include a ton of information about this new source of amusement.
    » SKILLS
Skyblock has 7 skills that you can level up. The skills in the game are kind of like MCMMO (if you know what that is), every skill starts at I (1) and can be trained til it reaches L (50). » SKYBLOCK TIME
The Skyblock time varies from the real-life time. Having an idea about the time scaling is useful for things like events, and other things that utilize in-game time. All the information about time was provided by @TheElasticTuba, so huge thanks to him!

↪ Every 10 minutes in game = (approximately) 8.15 seconds in real-world time.
    ↪ 1 in-game day = (approximately) 1173.6 real-world seconds or 19.56 minutes.
↪ 1 in-game month (31 in-game days. Please keep note that all in-game months consist of exactly 31 days according to the calendar) = 606.3 real-world minutes, or 10.1 hours.
    ↪ 1 in-game year (12 in-game months) = 121.3 real-world hours, or 5.05 days.
    ↪ 1 in-game decade (10 in-game years) = 50.53 real world days or 1 month and 19.5 days.
    1 in-game century (100 in-game years) = 505 real world days or 1 year and 4.51 months.
    » ENCHANTING
Enchanting is a very big part of Skyblock, having strong gear and a good sword definitely helps a lot when it comes to killing mobs, and grinding XP and coins. The maximum level an enchantment table can go to is level 64, to get to this level you have to have an enchantment table in the middle surrounded by bookshelves placed 5 by 5, and 2 high. Click here for a screenshot. You can get levels fairly easily by mining the ores, and killing the mobs in the mines.

You can get a higher level enchantment by combining 2 of the same enchantments, who are also the same level. So for example, if you combine a protection 1 and protection 1 book in the anvil, you'll get protection 2.
You can use the anvil in the hub, next to the blacksmith (X: -16, Z: -128).
To make your sword or other gear/tools better/stronger, you can reforge them, visit the blacksmith to do this (X: -19, Z: -124).
You can combine two of the same swords into one, and fuse the enchantments of both, as long as they enchantments can work together.
Not all enchantments can work together, for example, you can't put Smite and Sharpness on one sword, you can only have one of the two.
To gain experience faster, wear lapis armour, this armour boosts the XP you get from mining ores by 50% per armour piece. The experience enchantment for your sword can also help a lot.
    » FAIRY SOUL LOCATIONS
    Info

Fairy souls are heads hidden around the hub. You can exchange 5 fairy souls for a permanent stat boost. You can exchange these heads by talking to Tia the Fairy (x: 129, y: 66, z: 137).

    » CURRENCY (COINS)
There are different ways to get coins and even more ways to spend them. I'll list a few ways to get coins/not lose them:
↪ You'll receive 2% interest on the number of coins you have on your bank at the end of every season.
↪ You get coins by killing mobs.
↪ To deposit money, walk up to the Banker and right click on him (X: 18, Z: -40, in the Hub).
↪ You get coins by doing quests/objectives.
↪ Sell stuff at a merchant, you can do this by right-clicking on the merchant, and clicking on the items in your inventory that you want to sell.
↪ Deposit your coins, if you die you'll lose half of the coins that are in your purse.
    » QUESTS
Quests are a really fun addition to Skyblock in my opinion. Quests provide you with rewards when you complete certain tasks. You can see your current quests and your progress in the quest log. You can open the quest log by pressing on the nether star and then on the book and quill.

One of the quests is to talk with 12 villagers on spawn, I heard some people have trouble with this one so I'll list the coordinates of every villager here:

    Leo » x: -5, z: -89
    Felix » x: -15, z:-97
    Duke » x: 1, z: -103
    Lynn » x: 11, z:-100
    Vex » x: 11, z: -85
    Andrew » x: 9, z: -64
    Jack » x: 1, z: -67
    Jamie » x: -17, z: -67
    Tom » x: -14, z: -83
    Ryu » x: -6, z: -118
    Liam » x: -35, z: -97
    Stella » x: 28, z: -116
    » FISHING
Fishing can be quite rewarding. You can reel in some really good rewards, the Titanic experience bottle for example, very useful. In a recent update, Hypixel added that there is a change to catch monsters while fishing, which is very interesting in my opinion.

Here are a few things you should know:
Open sea creature guide » There is a guide on these monsters called the "Sea Creature Guide", you can open this guide through your skill menu or by executing the command "/scg".
Fishing level » The higher your fishing level is, the crazier the monsters get.
Fishing minion » There is also a fishing minion who can help you out quite a lot.
Bait » You can use bait to increase your fishing speed and catch sea creatures.

    Rods
Speedster rod » Damage 30, hitting a monster gives a burst of speed. Increases fishing speed by 30%.
Primsarine rod » Damage 15, this fishing rod grants a 25% chance to catch prismarine shards or crystals. Increases fishing speed by 10%.
Farmer's rod » Damage 45, chance to fish up farm animals. Increases fishing speed by 40%.
Challenging rod » Damage 60, chance to fish up farm animals. Increases fishing speed by 50%, and the sea creature catch rate by 5%.
Rod of Champions » Damage 85, chance to fish up farm animals. Increases fishing speed by 60%, and the sea creature catch rate by 10%.
Rod of Legends » Damage 100, chance to fish up farm animals. Increases fishing speed by 70%, and the sea creature catch rate by 15%.

I still miss a certain amount of rods, please PM me if you have on that I missed.
    » CUSTOM ENCHANTS
Custom enchants are another addition who have a big role in Skyblock. You can get custom enchants by enchanting utilizing the enchantment table next to the Librarian (x: 17, z: -18). From the Librarian himself you can buy enchanted books, but the only custom enchants he sells is Scavenger. I'll try to list as many custom enchants alphabetically as I can and explain what they do. Please let me know if I missed one by stating which one I missed and what that custom enchant does. If I put a '/' I don't know what the enchant does. The (1 - x) behind the name of the enchantment is the tier/level of the enchantment/how high it can go.

Aiming (1 - 5) » Arrows home towards nearby monsters if they are within 2 blocks
Critical (1 - 5) » Increases the amount of damage that critical does a certain percentage of the time.
Cubism (1 - 5)» Increases damage dealt to magma cubes, slimes, and creepers.
Cleave (1 - 5) » Deals a part of your damage dealt to other monsters within 4.5 blocks of the target.

First Strike (1 - 4) » Increases melee damage on mobs during the first hit.
Giant Killer (1 - 5) » Increases damage you deal by 1-5% scaling by how much % of your health the enemy has over yours. (enemy having 1% more health over yours = +5% damage at level 5, etc.).
Growth (1 - 5) » Provides you with extra health.
    Harvesting (1 - 5) » Grants a chance to harvest double crops.
Impaling (1 - 3) » Increases damage dealt to Guardians and Squids by a percentage.
Infinite Quiver (1 - 5) » Gives you your arrow back a percentage of the time.
Lethality (1 - 5) » Reduces the armour of your target by a percent for 8 seconds, each time you hit them. Stacks up to 5 times.
Life Steal (1 - 3) » Heals you for a small percentage of the damage you deal to mobs.
Luck (1 - 5) » Increases the chance of monsters dropping their armour.
Magnet » Grants one extra experience orb on every fish catch.
Piercing (1 - 1) » Arrows can go through enemies. A percent of the damage is handed to the extra targets who got hit.

Frail (1 - 5) » Reduces the health on sea creatures when reeled in.
Spiked Hook (1 - 5) » Increases your damage to sea creatures.
Blessing (1 - 5) » Increases your chances to reel in double items.

    » THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
    Reforging
    » You can reforge items at the blacksmith (x: -19, z: -124).
Lose Coins On Death » When you die you'll lose half of the coins that are in your purse, so make sure to deposit everything to the bank.
Fall Damage » Fall damage is enabled, so watch out with mountains and other high Y values.
Emerald Particles » When doing the villager NPC quest, you can easily see which villagers you still have to talk to by checking if they have an emerald particle above their head.
    » SKYBLOCK SUGGESTIONS
    Remove Enchants
» I believe it would be a great feature if there would be a way to remove certain enchants from items.
Skyblock Rules » I think it would be a good idea to add an official rule page for Skyblock, so it's clear what is, and what is not allowed.

Thanks for reading my guide, I plan to keep updating and expanding it. Feel free to start a conversation with me if you have suggestions.

  3. You should add which tools/armory you can put the custom enchants on. That would be helpful.

Also, add pictures for the npc's in the hub? that would be useful and could be more convenient for those who aren't familiar with coordinates

Make the list of Custom Enchantments in alphabetical order?

-Add critical to the list of custom enchants. (Critical increases crit damage, Crit I does 10% more crit damage idk about the rest)
-I also recall an enchant called "Ender Slayer" or something, which I'm assuming increases damage against endermen.
-Cleave V: "Deals 15% of your damage dealt to other monsters within 4.5 blocks of the target" basically it deals damage to other mobs that are within 4.5 blocks of the mob you damaged.

edit: btw this post is very outdated just saying

  7. Idk why it's even called skyblock, 90% of the gameplay is in the hub, not on a small floating island

  8. Pretty good, detailed and actually thorough. One thing, though. Wrong section. Post this in the Skyblock section.
Also, maybe add some graphics (pictures and the like). Colour as well and font size changes as well.

I requested a forum section move, I added screenshot hyperlinks for the villager, also added a color scheme and font size changes, thanks for the suggestions and feedback!

  14. Good guide! Although, you might want to request that this moves to the skyblock forums so that it has a chance of being pinned.
