Hallo Amigo - I got a my new PC recently, and in benchmark testing it it revealed that my RAM was apparently running at ~1500-1800Hz, however I was told it was 3000Hz - I'm not an expert in RAM, so are these possibly 2 different stat, or are these programs just inaccurate? I ran the programs on the userbenchmark website, and also ran CPU-Z.

DDR4, Double Data Rate 4. So your 1500Mhz reading is doubled to 3000Mhz. Task Manager>Performance>Memory, this does the 2x for you, most other diagnostic programs give you the raw numbers.

Hallo I'm choosing parts for someone else's computer and they have a budget of maximum £1200 to work with (not including peripherals and monitor) which converts to around $1550. They're adamant on the peripherals and monitor so it's only the PC parts that I have freedom to change. I think i did a pretty good job but I'd appreciate a second opinion https://pcpartpicker.com/user/ItsTUF/saved/fBbvf7

If he wants stable 1440p gaming at 100+fps without lowering settings much he'll need way more than that to get the PC and all the peripherals.

I'd try suggesting to him to just get a 144Hz monitor at 1080, and instead you can probably get him a 2060 OC, or something around that price point, cutting in half the cost of the card, and cutting in half the price of a screen.

For reference - for around that same pricepoint, I managed to get the same CPU and RAM (at 3000Hz), 2 monitors (both 1080p, one 60Hz the other 144Hz), some cheap pheripherals, and an OC'd 2060 (8GB RAM)

Yo Computer Nerd, do you know if there are any PC building websites that actually check and take into account part compatibility when allowing you to check and buy parts? I don't wanna buy parts that won't work together by accident and I don't trust myself to just lookup each one lmao.

pcpartpicker is actually really good for this :) if you want help I could help, I love building lists in my free time ')

Edit to respond to what he said, ram could provide issues with some coolers and rads for allin1 watercoolers aren't that great, but it is pretty much the only option, and they are active on Reddit if you want to give feedback <3

pcpartpicker.com is more or less the only one out there that I've seen be decent. It doesn't get everything, for example if your RAM sticks intefere with your cooler. Don't believe it checks fan and radiator support too well, and doesn't check any RGB components. I'd say trust it 90%, then post it to /r/buildapc or something asking for a final look to make sure nothing was missed, or send it to me

Fine, still slighly half active. Working about 52 hours a week currently, at least I get to buy nice things, like $4.5k towards an anime collection because I can't control myself

Haven't played more than 15 minutes in about a year, I'd probably get back into TNT Run if it were only limited to ~4 double jumps, that'll never happen though

Should i get a 1080p 165hz monitor for $160, a 1080p 240hz monitor for $250, or a 1440p 144hz monitor for $250. The ones for $250 are at the TOP of my price range/what I am willing to spend. Also, the 1080p ones are 24 inches and the 1440p one is 27 inches. Which one should I get (I have a ryzen 5 3600 and a rtx 2070 if it makes a any difference)

I'd do 1440p 144Hz, make sure you check reviews on monitors other than on Newegg. Sites like tftcentral are a good place to start.

When in Minecraft I get the full 150 fps which I locked in. But when I am in the Mainmenu in Fullscreen mode after 2 Seconds it drops from 150fps to like 60. Any ideas? (I am using a 144HZ Monitor)
      1. Savage117
        Savage117
I think the title screen is capped now to 60 or something, in the past you could get 1k+ easily, probably capped to prevent coil whine you get at high framerates

Using Optifine 1.14.4 and vanilla 1.14.4, I get full unlocked both in-game, in the server browser, and title screen, whether fullscreen or otherwise. You can probably go into NVIDIA Control Panel or the AMD equivalent and specifically disable V-Sync and similar things, setting your framerate to highest available

I have this build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jM2frV, just wondering if it's going to work all right. It's within budget, I just need a second opinion. I also have confirmed that the RGB can sync up properly, as that's the most important thing.
